8th District Congressional candidate Sullivan calls press conference

NEW YORK, NY   Adam Sullivan, the pro-impeachment candidate challenging incumbent Jerrold Nadler for the Democratic nomination in New York’s 8th Congressional District, will make a statement to the press this coming Tuesday, July 22nd at 12 noon. The press conference will be held outside of the main entrance to the US Post Office Farley Building on Eighth Avenue (between 31st and 33rd Streets).

Following the revelations in the media which suggest that Sullivan may not qualify for the primary if challenged by his opponent, the Sullivan for Congress campaign committee met July 17 to discuss the future of the campaign. The Committee resolved to hold the press conference on Tuesday to announce the campaign’s future plans.

Said Sullivan, “The people who have worked diligently on this campaign, as well as the people of the 8th District, deserve to know precisely where we stand. I will announce my intentions on Tuesday. In the meantime, our purpose has not altered: we seek true, direct representation in Congress, and accountability for the crimes of this Executive.”

“Impeachment,” concluded Sullivan, “is the bare minimum that this administration deserves, as Congressman Nadler himself admits. My campaign and its supporters will continue to focus their efforts on this goal.”

Sullivan’s petitions currently remain on file at the Board of Elections, where they have been challenged with two general objections. Congressman Nadler’s campaign has until the end of the day on Monday to move forward with specific objections in order to have Sullivan removed from the ballot.
